Hi, I’m Maika, a German native, who fell in love with the equally vivid and tranquilizing African wilderness in a warm
Sunday night. It was December 31st in 2000 and my very first night in the bush. The magical calls around us mixed
with gentle rustling of the Mopane shrubs, mysterious light and a bottle of champagne, that didn’t survive the
potholes, will always be part of the story how I got, where I’m now

Few things are cooler to behold than a pride of lionesses in the bush. A one-pack-mind, the same adrenalin, after the same peace. Showing reverence to a side of themselves they scarcely encounter among the Lions and the cubs, one inspired by survival, being fiercely protective of each other, making strategies together towards one common outcome, tripping and falling over circumstances, nudging each other back up… being a tribe. The feminine version of anything that exists in a male only template is to say the least, a breath of fresh air, and most importantly, a nourishing experience for all the members of the ecosystem, everyone wins. And this is why.
